Bicentenary

The novel set in 1820 is due next month. It's called Bubbles in the Cauldron and with that misquote from Shakespeare's Macbeth it's obviously set in Scotland. It's a thriller about a deaf lad and the drover from Dornoch caught up in the insurrection. I'm rather proud of it and hope it takes the reader into the scene. I wanted to write it because it took place, well, partly, in the area I grew up in. There is so much local history our history teachers didn't have licence to teach us that was of more interest than Marie Antoinette or even the Gunpowder Plot. I think the interest that is shown in Family History and Genealogy today shows how keen people are to find out about their local history. I had trouble getting a map onto a Word page with this old machine but managed with the help of my new tablet. I'm not sure if my laptop problem is just dust but I'll try putting the vacuum on the ventilation port.
Anyway, now I must start the research for the next historical novel, set among the Navy in the Stuart monarchies. I'm already enjoying that.
